September 8, 2008 — Bodman LLP partner James J. Vlasic has been elected chair of the State Bar of Michigan’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Section for the 2008-2009 term.
The Alternative Dispute Resolution Section fosters diversity on the legal profession, develops and offers educational programs, promotes access to dispute resolution alternatives, monitors legislative and judicial activity, and provides policy guidance, information and technical assistance on ethical issues, dispute resolution techniques and training design. The Section also produces publications that promote wider use and excellence in the provision of alternative problem-solving techniques and dispute resolution services.
Vlasic concentrates his practice in business litigation and closely held business organizations. He has handled matters involving building construction, secured transactions, business fraud, mergers, corporate and partnership disputes, buying and selling of aircraft, transportation equipment and insurance. He has participated in numeorus seminars and published articles on alternative dispute resolution matters.
