Bodman Expands Corporate/M&A Practice

August 18, 2008 — Bodman LLP has expanded its corporate/M&A practice with the addition of three experienced attorneys from other major firms.

The attorneys add depth to Bodman’s corporate practice, already ranked among the top 3 in Michigan by the prestigious journal Chambers USA.

Edwin J. Lukas joined Bodman as a partner on August 18. Lukas specializes in corporate and commercial law, public and private equity and debt offerings, mergers and acquisitions and other complex business matters. He has represented automotive companies in specialty industry issues, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances and international transactions. He is a 1992 graduate of the University of Detroit School of Law. Before joining Bodman, Lukas was a principal at Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C.

Mark W. Peters joined Bodman as a partner on July 21. Peters has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions involving subsidiaries and divisions in a range of industries including automotive, infrastructure, insurance, telecommunications and life sciences. He represents issuers in initial public and private securities offerings, including high-yield debt offerings and demutualizations. Peters is a 1993 cum laude graduate of Wayne State University Law School. Before joining Bodman, Peters was a member of Dykema Gossett PLLC.

Alexis J. Schostak joined Bodman as an associate on July 14. Schostak represents businesses in matters involving corporate organization, mergers, acquisitions and other commercial transactions. She is a 2004 honors graduate of Emory University School of Law. Before joining Bodman, Schostak was an associate in the New York office of Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP, an internationally recognized corporate law firm which also has offices in Washington, D.C. and London.

Lukas will practice in Bodman’s Detroit office; Peters and Schostak are based in the firm’s Troy office.
