Carter and Fagan Re-Elected to Wolverine Bar Association Board of Directors

June 20, 2008 — Bodman LLP attorneys Michelle A. Carter and Niesa Trent Fagan have been re-elected to the Board of Directors of the Wolverine Bar Association for the 2008-2009 term.

Carter will also serve as the Association’s president-elect for the 2008-2009 term.

The Wolverine Bar Association, formed in the 1930s, is a predominately African-American organization whose members include numerous judges and other leaders of the legal profession. The Association takes an active role in community and political affairs and supports numerous professional activities, including a summer clerkship program, an externship program, a scholarship program and a judicial review program.

Carter, of Bodman’s Troy office, represents clients involved in complex commercial litigation and employment matters. She is a member of the Boards of Directors of the Barristers of the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association, Volunteers of America-Michigan, and the Rutgers-Camden School of Law Alumni Association. She was recently appointed to the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division Council and serves as the liaison between the ABA Young Lawyers Division and the National Bar Association Young Lawyers Division.

Fagan, of Bodman’s Detroit office, represents clients in complex commercial litigation and has counseled clients on a variety of labor and employment law issues. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School where she was a recipient of the George F. Deuble Foundation Scholarship.
