Mr. Friedman represents lenders in loan originations, including land development, construction and mortgage loans, asset-based loans and letter of credit facilities. Mr. Friedman has represented financial institutions in both asset-based and other commercial lending transactions as well as documenting construction and mortgage loan transactions.
Mr. Friedman has substantial experience in municipal financings and tax-exempt financings. Before joining the Firm, he served for six years with the Michigan State Housing Development Authority, including two years as director of operations. He also served as a staff attorney for the University of Detroit Center for Urban Law and Housing.
Mr. Friedman has represented both landlords and tenants in drafting and negotiating leases for shopping centers, office buildings and industrial facilities. He represented the developer in negotiating the acquisition of more than 600 acres in Romulus, Michigan which is now being developed as Metro World Centre.
Mr. Friedman has represented developers in several residential condominium developments in the metropolitan Detroit area. He has also represented apartment developers in numerous affordable housing developments around the State of Michigan.
