Mr. West assists financial institutions with legal compliance and regulatory issues. His diverse background includes experience as a bank regulator, a bank attorney, and a banking industry consultant.
Before joining the Firm, Mr. West served as director of the Division of Consumer Affairs for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas where he supervised enforcement of civil rights and consumer credit laws for member banks in the Eleventh Federal Reserve District. He also led the compliance unit for InterFirst Corporation, a 60-bank holding company. Most recently, Mr. West served as national counsel for a leading producer of compliance and loan documentation software.
A recognized authority on credit law and lending practices, Mr. West has taught courses on banking law and compliance at the Michigan Bankers Association Compliance Institute, the American Bankers Association Compliance School, the Texas Bankers Association Compliance School and at numerous banking seminars.
He has authored several books and articles on bank regulatory issues.
