Mr. Prater has represented clients on a wide variety of real estate matters, including the purchase and sale of real estate, ranging from single family homes to multi-million dollar commercial properties, and real and personal property tax matters. He also represents both landlords and tenants in the negotiation of leases for residential, retail, office and commercial uses, and lease disputes, including evictions.
Mr. Prater also represents owners, contractors and real estate developers on a wide variety of construction related matters, including the drafting and negotiation of construction contracts, acquisition of easements, securing construction financing, obtaining municipal approvals for projects and rezoning of real estate, and negotiation of development agreements.
In addition to real estate and construction matters, Mr. Prater also represents financial institutions in a wide variety of complex multi-million dollar secured credit facilities, including land acquisition and development loans, mortgage loans, construction financing and lines of credit.
Mr. Prater is also counsel for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit, representing the Archdiocese of Detroit in matters involving real estate, contracts and construction.
