Ms. Ficks is a member of the Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution, Workplace Law and Environmental Practice Groups. She concentrates her practice in commercial litigation and has assisted clients in employee benefits, ERISA disputes, discrimination and wrongful discharge cases. She has experience with securities litigation, including successful defense of securities brokers and their registered representatives in unsuitability, churning and fraud cases. Ms. Ficks has also served as defense counsel in lender liability claims against financial institutions and as defense counsel in an environmental cost recovery lawsuits involving a landfill clean-up and a gas station.
Ms. Ficks has broad litigation experience in both the trial and appellate levels. She has filed briefs before the Michigan Court of Appeals, the Michigan Supreme Court and the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
In law school, Ms. Ficks was assistant editor of the Wayne Law Review. She was also a recipient of the Wayne State Law School Dean’s Scholarship and a member of Wayne State Women’s Law Caucus.
