1750 — Native Americans travel several long-established trade routes that endure today as Oakland County’s primary arteries, including the Saginaw Trail (Woodward Avenue), the Shiawassee Trail (Orchard Lake Road) and the Grand River Trail (Grand River Avenue). This marks the start of Oakland County’s thriving penchant for business.

The City of Troy, located 20 miles north of Detroit in the heart of Oakland County, features a distinctive mix of corporate and residential life. Lining the city’s principal boulevard are some of the country’s largest companies, as well as many smaller entrepreneurial businesses. One of the wealthiest counties in the nation, Oakland has experienced dramatic growth in recent years, including high-tech businesses that populate the “Automation Alley” corridor. A well-educated workforce and superior quality of life make Oakland County a natural home for many of our clients and staff.

The growth of our Troy office has mirrored the growth of our client base there. Starting with one attorney in the 1960s, our Troy office today includes attorneys in a variety of disciplines. It is fitting that one of the nation’s fastest-growing areas is home to our Real Property Practice Group, which serves clients statewide.
